Dropped in on MACHIN C. V. Weeklys best live band 2014 winners. (Front man David Macias, violin, Bri Cherry, Bassman Andy Gorrill) at the PURPLE ROOM, Palm Springs,
We have enjoyed them a few times, luv a band that can't be described easily, Machin is the epitome of this, kinda flamenco, gypsy, rock, Ska, reggae, cumbia, David calls it “Spanglish Jive” whatever you call it you quickly become drawn into the fun.
Everything about the band is entertaining, from David playing guitar and pounding rhythm on his acoustic, the way Bri moves as she bows and plucks her violin to Andy's funky standup bass and accordion playing, This is a must see, don't wait to long because they will be leaving on their west coast tour soon. Before they go they have a show June 7th at SCHMIDY'S TAVERN with PINATA PROTEST then they will be back for David's birthday July 26th at THE HOOD. Hope to see you at one of their shows soon!
